SHARING TOGETHERNESS, SPREADING CARE

During this year’s Ramadan, the Mario Minardi Foundation shared a meaningful moment of togetherness by hosting an ifthar (fasting break) event at the Alaudin At-Taufiq Foundation in Bekasi, a home for orphaned and underprivileged children. The afternoon was filled with laughter, hope, and a sincere spirit of community. This activity serves as a tangible expression of care—an effort to be present and share stories with those in need.

The event began with a prayer and warm opening remarks from representatives of both the Mario Minardi Foundation and the Alaudin At-Taufiq Foundation. The program continued with heartfelt performances by the children, including poetry readings and soulful recitations of the Holy Qur'an, followed by interactive Ramadan-themed games that brought out cheers and excitement. This moment provided a space for the children to express themselves, build self-confidence, and experience collective happiness.

Furthermore, to support the children's development, the Mario Minardi Foundation introduced an English teacher as part of a new learning program to help them practice their language skills. This initiative is expected to be a first step in opening more opportunities for the children to develop their talents and skills for the future.

As the time to break the fast approached, the atmosphere turned more solemn with a tausiyah (religious talk) by Ustad Budi Prastowo. He offered reflections on spiritual values, providing the children with valuable lessons on togetherness, gratitude, and compassion. The sense of community grew even stronger as everyone broke their fast together, followed by a congregational prayer (sholat berjamaah).

“Through this togetherness during the month of Ramadan, we hope to instill values of gratitude and compassion that can empower these children and become a meaningful part of their journey ahead,” said Allaam Falih, Chairman of the Mario Minardi Foundation.

To wrap up the event, the day concluded with the distribution of goodie bags as keepsakes for the children, followed by a group photo session. For the Mario Minardi Foundation, this activity is a testament to its ongoing commitment to creating a tangible impact for Indonesian children—helping to build lives that are more dignified, full of hope, and rich with equal opportunities. Ultimately, compassion is not just about giving; it is about being present, listening, and sharing happiness.
